Pituophis melanoleucus (Eastern Pinesnake) is a large, nonvenomous colubrid native to the southeastern and central United States and adjacent parts of Canada; it is a powerful constrictor that prefers pine/forest and sandy habitats and feeds mainly on small mammals and birds. Generally not aggressive but can deliver defensive bites and musk; avoid handling or cornering.
