SnekQ AI and Snake Safety

SnekQ combines one to five photos, available location context, regional species candidates, and structured AI analysis. Results remain probabilistic and can be wrong.

Never handle a snake

SnekQ never advises that any snake is safe to pick up, touch, move, capture, restrain, corner, or kill—even when the likely species has no medically significant venom.

Use a safe distance

Take photos only when doing so does not require approaching the snake. Bring children and pets away from the area and allow the snake an escape route when possible.

Suspected bites

Call 911 or Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 immediately. Do not wait for SnekQ, apply a tourniquet, cut the wound, suck venom, or attempt to capture the snake.

Uncertainty

SnekQ shows confidence, photo limitations, geographic likelihood, and look-alikes. Geographically abnormal results are rechecked, but escaped or transported exotic snakes remain possible.
